Iolite Roman Glass Necklace (Israel)

Add a truly unique piece to your jewelry collection with this Roman glass necklace.

Accented by a large faceted iolite, the ancient Roman glass plays off the violet iolite and the matte finish on the sterling silver pendant to create a striking look. The chain is constructed from oxidized sterling silver to complement the darkened zig-zag on the pendant's crown. The iridescent shards of ancient Roman Glass are at least 1700 years old. A story card explaining how the captivating colors were formed is included. The glass has been unearthed by archaeologists in Israel as they sift through remains of fallen pillars and once spectacular cities of the Roman Empire.

Handcrafted in Israel in a small studio near Haifa, each creation varies slightly, making it a truly original work of wearable art.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

Please do not get your jewelry wet. Treat it as if it were 2,000 years old. Avoid showering or swimming with your jewelry on, and don't use hairspray near it. It's recommended that you not even touch it frequently--oils from your hands may alter the glass color and remove its luster. Clean the silver with a cloth, but try not to rub the ancient glass.
