Navajo Random Ladder Bracelet (Native American)

Clean, simple, traditional style characterizes this turquoise and sterling silver Random Ladder bracelet by Amelia Joe-Chandler.

A Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochon (16 mm x 14.5 mm) with organically irregular form rests in a sterling silver bezel at the center of this cuff bracelet. The center setting rests on two silver bars that wrap around the wrist; on each side of the turquoise, two silver rods cross the bars at random angles, representing a ladder from a kiva center. The bracelet measures 26 mm wide at the setting and narrows to 9 mm wide at the ends.

Amelia Joe-Chandler is Dineh (Navajo) and is of the Bitterwater (Todich' iinnii) Clan, born of the Mud (Hast lish nii) Clan. She earned a Masters in Art Education/Metalsmith and Jewelry Design from Indiana University. The simplicity of her jewelry and the subtle rawness of materials creates a bridge between beauty, elegance, and tradition, earning her a space in many galleries around the country.
