Five oval cabochons of brilliant turquoise (15 mm x 10 mm center, 10 mm
x 8 mm sides) rest in highly detailed bezel settings, separated by stylized
sterling silver cloud motifs. Lengths of chain extend from either end
of the centerpiece, and the necklace closes with a spring ring clasp.

Herman Hoskie, a full-blooded Navajo, has been silversmithing for over
24 years. He has mastered the art of overlay and stone setting. In the
overlay technique, a layer of silver is painstakingly cut with intricate
designs and soldered to a base layer. In combination with stamping and
shaping, overlay produces a foundation in which a stone can be set.
